Motivated to break away from the traditional and oversaturated beauty aesthetic, owner of Nine Lives Robyn, commissioned a brand identity for her exciting new business venture.

From our initial conversation it was clear that Nine Lives would never be a generic nail studio - a colourful space with a retro vibe and a modern feeling. The branding needed to allow plenty of room for the bright aesthetic to breathe, whilst still being bold enough to reflect the unique values of Nine Lives.

The identity would be inspired by Robyn’s love for her feline friends. With a hand-drawn cat silhouette paired with Neville Brody’s Blur, a bubble font influenced by the 1970’s punk era, which would tie together the branding, retro studio interior and rebellious nature of Nine Lives.
