Without any well-known travel platforms promoting solely extreme sports, the current industry seemed accessible to those already in the know. After finding it difficult to plan and execute his own extreme sport excursions, local thrill-seeker Dave hatched an idea - to create an online directory that would help connect fellow enthusiasts to extreme sports businesses everywhere.
The challenge was to design a platform that not only included multiple ways for users to discover extreme sports, but also allowed businesses to feature on the website without any manual input from Dave.
The solution was to design a bespoke sign-up process that gave businesses the ability to create and populate their own experience card, which would then feature on a specific sports page and on a fully-customised interactive map. With the addition of a ‘bucket list’ saving feature, excursions can also be planned before the trip begins.
With no current branding, I was given full creative direction to develop a new identity. I wanted the brand to have strong connotations to the outdoors with added elements that highlight the extreme nature of the sports involved.
